For those of you that have been following my facebook and 'tweets' will see that I've had a lot of time for music here, and had the privelege of playing at compass coffee house this last Friday. I enjoyed quality time practising and preparing for that last week and of course performing.
One of the main things I feel I've realised being out here has been how much I adore music. This past year has been a journey of reconciliation in many areas personally. Music being one of those, having held music as my identity for so long in a negative respect, upon conviction of this just over a year ago I felt the prompting to lay it down for a season as my heart be set right with it. Now I feel that season is coming to a close at His calling in the quiet times and through playing and hearing testimonies of how the Lord uses it to bless. Drawing near to His heart in writing, in playing and in performing thus glorifying God, exposing His presence and welcoming all into more intimacy with Him.
So you could say, I have found more vision in this area and generally. I feel quite passionate about this, and will be putting a lot more emphasis on music from now on. I am excited to see how things will work out. Working on a vision.
Also while I've been here I have been inspired to be as active as I can be in giving everything to the Lord. The big things and the small things, for instance, fair trade, clothes that support and promote organisations in their fight for justice. This too is exciting, small things that are part of the bigger picture.
On that note, I checked out an organisation named #LOVE146 recently and was really impressed and convicted, by all they're doing and all that is happening in the world, one thing that I'll be having a go at over the next couple of months is 'treading on trafficking'. Raising money and raising awareness with regular exercise, and the bonus of getting fit too. I'll be sending out e-mails etc. over the next few days and will have more info on how you can contribute soon.
I have a few more days here in Poland and head back to Holmsted on Saturday (May 1st). Thanks for reading, this is more of life as I know it.

Yes! Keep going deep in the beautiful gift of music that God gave you! :D
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting that you note about fair trade and such, working in a clothing store has made me think more and more every day about the very thing. It's great to know we really can do something about it. :)
<3 you. Keep up the awesome work that God's given you. :)
