holmsted heights, summer time.

Sunday afternoon is here again, it's been quite nice to have spent the weekend fairly relaxed here at Holmsted after spending the last two weekends on the trot travelling. I went back the first time to drum in a band practise for my friends wedding, then ended up playing some electric guitar in the worship band at Christchurch Family Church on the Sunday and spending some quality time with family and friends from there. The next weekend was the wedding, which fortunately for all was probably one of the nicest days weather-wise. Celebrating a couple brought together by the Lord and hearing all the testimonies during the reception was good for the soul. On the Sunday I had the joy of playing drums in the worship band at my home church BCC on the Sunday, so a very musical couple of weekends! As always, strengthened and encouraged by everybody at BCC.

Life at Holmsted is treating me well, I am enjoying community life here and getting involved in a lot of practical work. The beginnings of summer ensure that work out in the gardens is never really a chore. Just this last week we rented a cherry-picker to do some exterior work on the building [so nice to be out in the sun]. My training came in handy after all eh. This week will be fairly quiet as the April School are away for a weeks teaching so I will finishing up with the cherry-picker, hopefully some gardening as well but what I'm really looking forward to is sitting down and getting stuck into some music, what I'm aiming towards right now is getting a handful of songs together to cut an ep. I've had some good ideas and inspiration, but what I'm trying to keep in focus is primarily Jesus and secondarily that I'm a learner in this area. My problem with writing in the past has been my pride and impatience, and I'm journeying through this with the Lord. I really look forward to you all hearing what eventually comes from my graft. These are very early stages, and I am simply testing something that the Lord may want to use.

In other news, it is my birthday next Sunday! I'll be 23. My parents will be coming to visit and also a good friend of mine. It's going to be such a joy to celebrate and thank God for all He has done this past year.
Well, that's all for now. Thanks for reading and journeying with me.
love [x3]
