Hello all, a fairly brief update.
Just stepping outside of the rush that has been the last couple of days to let you know that all is well. I am planning on replying to your emails and writing out an official-ish email update soon. Pretty much all the students are here now and we kicked off the school today with an introduction, games and some worship. It's been great, I have a fair bit to prepare but I've been blessed with energy and grace to step up to what I've been called to do. I'm kind of thinking, 'so this is it, arghhh!' haha- it's going to be a wonderful few months, months that I will learn and experience so much, and I'm ready. I think.
Some prayer points
-That I'd continue to grow in God, in leaderhip and in my giftings.
-For courage, that I'd be more confident and walk in the truth that God has called me for this season.
-Staff/Students - please pray for unity with the staff, and over our relationships with the students, that I'd find a good balance in this.
-Time management- Please pray that my time management would improve, so that I am able to get done what needs to be, build good relationships here but also sustain relationships at home with email, phone etc. I realise just how important it is to work on this, and just how important you all are.
-Please pray that I'd seek ye first, and never forget why I'm here and God's grace.
Thankyou so much for reading and for all your support.

PEACE

discoveries and struggles in light of a new season, scrapbook thoughts
Greetings all, a fairly brief update.
It’s been an interesting month or so. We finished our first part of staff training last week, and this week the schedule has been fairly open to allow time for final preparations before the school officially starts on Saturday. I’ve been spending some time preparing teaching, and there have been some practical bits and pieces to sort. We greeted our first two trainees’ today, from now they’ll be trickling in up until Saturday.
Experiencing a plethora of emotions and have been thinking many thoughts, about things generally, perhaps too much. I’ve been confronted with many challenges recently, as I’ve been seeking to settle in and build friendships here at holmsted. I’m working through alot of things from my past, and to be honest I’ve felt like I’m losing the battle at times, but I know I’m covering ground and I know it’s a day by day thing. Walking in my identity in Christ and making peace. It’s going to be a busy few months, months of much growth. Hard at times- but good, very good.
I intend to write an update soon with more detail as to what I’ve been up to exactly. For the moment, I hope this will suffice.
Prayer requests
-Battles/victories. Please pray that I’d continue to battle with zeal, and that I’d be able to work through my issues- and find a good balance generally, that I wouldn’t be consumed with my struggles so much that I become ineffective.
-Unity. Please pray as I settle in and build friendships here at holmsted, for our dts staff team- for good solid lasting relationships that give out a positive impact to the trainees.
-Energy/Wisdom. Please pray that I’d continue to grow in maturity, in faith, in practical things like time management and lots of other things.
Thankyou oh so very much for reading. I say it every time, but it’s because I mean it! I really appreciate it.
Have a wonderful week.

The overwhelming gratefulness and the unknown
Hello All.
Hope all is well and thanks for reading. A week has passed by at holmsted. We’ve just finished our second week of staff training before the trainees start arriving from next Wednesday. It’s been great spending more time with some of the guys staffing the DTS with me and also people on the base. Taking time to settle in, which is fair enough, think I’m just a bit impatient but it’s all coming together. We’ve been learning a great deal about leadership, and have been assigned different roles (I’m coordinating worship for the school) and have been taught about planning and leading an outreach team, also dealing with difficult characters/situations.
I’ve really enjoyed listening to alot of the teaching this week, as it’s been given by inspirational folk with admirable amounts of experience. To be honest I’ve had moments where I’ve felt out of my depth here and in my role but I know that God has called me here for this season. It’s good to approach this position with humility and not to take it lightly I’m sure.
We have a few days to pray and prepare before the students arrive next week. On the first week of DTS (week after next) I will be teaching on discipleship which will require some prep and also I’m attempting to compile some kind of song book for worship. When the students get here the work really kicks off! I’m primarily being trained to disciple, so as well as listening in on the students lectures I will be attending staff meetings and receiving training from staff on base and guest speakers. I will be running three small group sessions a week, leading local outreaches and open mics, meeting up with individuals for one on one discussion- mainly to listen to them, encourage and help them process and provide support. Alongside this there is the outreach to organise which will be interesting, things like organising transport, visas and accommodation, arranging ministries with contacts etc. So that’s a summary of some of the things I will be involved in during the school, there’s a fair amount of variation but as far as the regular goes this is what’s going to be keeping me very busy.
This weekend I’m going to try and rest up and enjoy some quiet before things get crazy. I’m heading into Brighton for a stroll around tomorrow and saying goodbye to a team being sent out by holmsted to Poland on Sunday, which is very exciting but sad to say goodbye to friends.
So my prayer points for this week.
-Strength. Please pray for strength to get everything organised well for when the students come, strength for all occasions I guess. That I wouldn’t try to do things in my own strength.
-Unity, relationships.
Please pray for good relationships and unity between staff, also staff and students.
-Confidence.
Please pray that I would continue to grow in confidence and that I’d walk in my true identity.
-Resolve.
Please pray that in my walk with God I’d take hold of the freedom I’ve been given and that I’d continue grow in understanding and maturity.
-For the students yet to come.
Please pray that God would really move, and that travels, transition and settling would be smooth.
That’s all for now. Thanks for reading and thank you so much for your encouragement and support in these times. I appreciate it very much.
Jesus said, ‘Heaven and earth will pass away, but my word will never pass away’
I love that.
Thanks once again

Holmsted, Home.
Greetings! How's everything? Hope its all good.
A fairly brief update.
I started staff training at the beginning of this week, which has been enjoyable and its been fun getting to know the staff and preparing for the trainees to arrive in a couple of weeks time. I've been learning quite a range of things from the practicalities of working on staff, learning about the DTS and the heart behind it, running small groups and planning the theme for the school and various other bits and bobs. This weekend I'm back home as I'm serving as an usher for my good friend Gerald who is getting married tomorrow which is very exciting indeed!
A few quick prayer requests :)
- Working with the DTS is going to be very very busy, please pray for wisdom with how I spend my time and energy so that I can be effective and as open as i can be for God to move.
- Contact with Church, Home and Supporters.
Missions work away from home can be fairly draining at times, and being an introvert I find it too easy to close off sometimes if i'm completely honest. Please pray for strength to work on this, as I am very much aware of the necessity of accountability and regular contact with you guys, and even though I am training and working in leadership it's as much a journey for me as anyone i am helping lead.
- UNITY.
In the early days of adjusting to life at Holmsted, there are lots of people to get to know better and build friendships with, especially those on the DTS Staff team. Please pray that I can make some good solid friends and for harmony.
Thankyou so much for reading, and for all your support. Its such a privelege to have you on this journey with me.
All my love
