Good afternoon distant friends and family. I hope you're all well.
Things in Chennai are going well, getting stuck in with lots of ministry- as i mentioned in my earlier update taken from facebook (which explains the wateriness).
Yesterday we led a smallgroup in a hut for some of the boys, which was very special. We spoke on the armour of God (Ephesians) and how we as children, as brothers and sisters, as a family and a body, are in a battle. Even though we were sharing with young christians and presented it in a way that is accessible to them, it is becoming more evident to me as the days go by here just how crucial it is to know that God has given us armour and that our battle is not merely against flesh and blood (Eph 6:12).
I've been in India exactly one week now, I'm having an incredible time. No other country has roused such deep thoughts within me than the land of India. It is another world, full of mystery and colour. I’ve been learning a great deal about spiritual warfare out here, the enemy has been lying to me about my identity, and bringing up my past. Two weak spots of mine..
A couple of days back, I spent some good time writing up a blog- with my experiences, encouragement and prayer points. It all disappeared. Warfare.
Finding the desire to sit down and write another update. Warfare.
Handing my burdens to Jesus. Warfare.
Walking in my identity in Christ. Warfare.
Ministries
House visits – This past week as a team we’ve had the opportunity to visit hindu families in the local village and seeing what Bernard( the pastor) and Imon ( an old friend of mine) get up to. We’ve mainly been praying for health and healing, and discovering more about Hindu/Indian folk.
Orphanage – We’ve had the privilege of being able to serve at the local orphanage in the village, to play with the children who are left on their own for most of the day in terrible conditions. These children bring and represent so much joy as they play and laugh, but the reality is truly eye-opening and disturbing when reflected on for too long. These thoughts have been almost unavoidable.
Church – This morning we shared about ourselves and a bit of what we’ve been doing in Chennai, as well as sharing some encouraging words. I had the privilege of praying over the church. Warfare.
Prayer
-Health - please pray that we’d stay in good health for the remainder of the trip. Praise God who has protected us thus far.
Contacts/ministries – please pray over the remaining days in Chennai (the final house/orphanage visits) That we can be a blessing to the families and children we are serving, and also that we’d be a blessing to Bernard and Imon and family for being such good hosts.
- Jeevan suicide prevention ministry – On Tuesday we are visiting this ministry, finding out more about the organization and praying for the staff and all who are involved.
- Next steps – On Wednesday evening we are traveling to a village near Salem to work with the Bethseda project, who work mainly with kids as far as I know. Prayers that we would be a blessing to everybody there.
- Warfare – Lots of prayer for this please. Pray that I’d not just defend, but that I’d fight with God’s armour and in HIS strength.
- Unity – For our team, as we are a threat when we are unified. Also, that we’d unify with everyone that we serve/serve with. FOR THE GLORY.
Thankyou all so much for reading, for your prayers, support and encouragement. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. It means SO MUCH.
In Christ.

Chennai Chennai
Hi all. I wrote a massive blog earlier today but I went and lost it, so here is a small update from facebook.
Greetings one and all, how is everyone? hope all is well. I'm writing this in INDIA! I've only been around a few days, am having a little trouble finding words to explain what I'm experiencing. If I could sum it up in one I'd say India = surreal. The first few days felt like a sweaty, hazy dream. I'm dealing with the culture shock pretty well, and loving the curries :) I'm unable to write much but here's a bit of a summary of what I've been up to.- Arrived in Trivandrum and stayed in a house right on the beach and ate curry on the beach etc.- Sleeping off jetlag and adjusting. Sped round via rickshaw.- Moved on into the Trivandrum city, mostly exploring- my friend Joel was asked to appear as an extra in an upcoming kerala movie 'island express' watch this space haha.- Organised trains planes and buses to get around the south a bit easier.- Flew to Chennai to see a friend, have been working at the church there with Bernard- house visits and at the orphanage. So, a very brief update but an update nonetheless. I'M HAVING A GREAT TIME.I love and miss you all. Thanks for reading and God bless.Adamox

This time tomorrow.
Good morning.
How's life treating you all? Or, how are you treating life? Anyway. This time tomorrow morning I'll probably be learning where the safety exits are and what drinks i can purchase on the plane to india. Exciting eh? Today is my last day to get everything sorted, thanks to Gods grace I'm 90% there. Just a couple more things to get and I'll be as ready as I can be. I've had the opportunity to spend some good time in reflection over the happenings of these last few months in particular. To sum up, I love God and I love his faithfulness. I couldn't have done anything without Him, the support of the church and the help of friends. I am very thankful.
Thankyou all. Thankyou so much for your prayers and gifts, you are all so precious to me in this time of stepping out, I've come to realise the necessity of prayer support.
I'm not sure when I'll be updating next, I hope to post a small newsletter update, which will come out in the next few weeks. It'll be available through email, and soft copies at Bournemouth Community Church. I fly back on the 4th and aim to be at BCC on sunday the 6th of september to be officially sent out before I head across to Holmsted that afternoon.
A few prayer requests.
- Our journey
tomorrow's travelling commences at 5am, involving coaches, planes and some waiting too. Please pray for God's strength.
-Contacts
that we'd be able to visit all our contacts and friends, for lots of opportunities to serve and bless.
-Health
for the trip, I became quite worried at one point about all the dangers etc. God has given me lots of peace about it, I'm sure we'll be fine but hey, some more prayer wouldn't hurt.
-Transition
The gap between India and holmsted is a very small one indeed, and I have a few things to do in that very small gap, please pray over the flight back that I'd be able to have an awesome rest, that the Holy Spirit would renew my strength and that the transition would be smooth. This one will be quite a challenge. Please pray!
Thankyou all so much once again.

one week

Hello one and all.
So I leave for India in one week, things are coming together. I've posted this map to give you an idea of where I'll be. Flying into trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) on the southwest, then we head up the coast to Cochi, then across to Chennai making a few stops on the way then heading back to trivandrum. I am particularly excited about visiting Chennai not only because a friend of mine lives there, but earlier this year I felt God speaking to me about India and I recieved firstly the word 'Madras' then soon after 'Chennai' (Chennai, formerly named Madras). There are three of us going and between us we have contacts and friends involved in a wide range of churches, orphanages and mission organisations. Just a few prayer requests.
For India
-Safe travels, health, strength. Dealing with culture shock, the heat, and mozzies(Eek!) Protection physically and spiritually for all of us as a team (Joel Robinson and Sam Mason). I've been having trouble with headaches recently. Please pray.
-Planning and practicalities- communication with contacts, transport, accomodation etc.
and....
For Holmsted
- Time has flown! Ill be moving across to holmsted soon after I arrive back from India, the transition has potential to be quite stressful/tiring. Please pray for peace and good organisation.
- Finance. I have enough for 8 months ministry now from gifts, but I am looking for people to commit to sponsoring me financially each month and also in prayer. I have limited time to get all this together, please pray! If you'd like to sponsor me financially, please do get in touch! My email is...
adamoxborrow@gmail.com
Sponsorship as much as £10 a month is so beneficial!
Thankyou all so much for being a part of this journey with me.
With love
Adam
